In order to facilitate the growing & expanding organization and with the aim to improve the work environment of 100+ staff the Dutch coffee-espresso equipment manufacturer de Jong DUKE is going to relocate to a new facility in Sliedrecht.

The new headquarters, R&D competence center and production facility will include 1800 m2 of office space, spacious meeting rooms of which some ‘float’ in the 6500 m2 production / assembly hall and 1600 m2 logistics & warehouse space. The facility will include various measures to reduce the environmental impact of the operation including solar energy solutions that once completed will generate enough power to enable the complete office and factory to run almost self-sufficiently.

The future ‘home’ is located in the same industrial area as the current address so employees don’t need to commute much further than they do today allowing a large faction to continue to cycle to work.

After having been in the current location for almost 45 years, the move, although small from a geographical perspective, is considered to be significant as it’s an essential step in de development of the company and organization. The new premises is intended to facilitate the company’s ambitions to expand in Europe and the US and develop markets in the rest of the world. It brings all Dutch colleagues under one roof again, which contributes to the efforts to support and service the customers with quality products and optimal service.

With a focus on interaction, inclusion and transparency the design & interior will create a welcoming, cooperative and inspiring atmosphere encouraging everyone to contribute their best. The design of the building is from Peter Keijsers from the well-known architectural office Bedaux de Brouwer in Goirle. Interior architect Ex-interieurs from Nieuwegein has been asked to assist in the design of the offices and all communal spaces. The entire project and construction is realized by De Vries & Verburg from Stolwijk and managed by BOAG, a construction management company based in Capelle a/d IJssel.

Construction of the new office & factory is currently underway and it is anticipated that the operation will be moving into the new building at the end of this year. De Jong TECHNICS, the other business unit also occupying the current facility will remain located in the Bruningsstraat and continues to operate from there.
